Straight off of the runway! These thigh high boots best fit on size 10.5-11W. They are vegan leather, and painted for the show! I love the idea of them changing as they are worn, i love the idea of repurposed shoes being painted.
My inspiration: Due to budget constraints, Margiela repurposed unsold boots for future shows by painting them in new colours. In the beginning there was no budget for a new form, so I had no other choice than to continue with [the Tabi] if I wanted shoes, Margiela says BAZAR magazine
This has now become a staple Margiela design, he paints shoes and the more they are worn, the more paint falls from them, making them feel more unique and one of a kind to the wearer.
